Farm boy turned Dragon Rider, Eragon is a young man with destiny written all over him in large, bold, shiny letters.

Headstrong, stubborn and willful, yet at times extremely trusting, Eragon is trying to live his life as he wants it without getting involved in all the messy politics that seem to surround being the first dragon rider in over a hundred years.

He's a talented fighter and magic user, at least in his own opinion, and has rarely had to struggle to do anything. At times he can be ruthless. He also has a very black and white view of the world. If you like him and are nice looking, you're good and if you dislike him or not good looking, you're evil.

His dragon, Saphira is a walking Dues Ex Machina one of the last of her kind and the only known female. They have a special bond the likes of which can only be found between a dragon and his rider, making the more than equals and yet not.

Eragon looks like an elf with tapered ears and ... being pretty. He angsts about this.
