Prompt 208: Four
There are four dragons left.
And only mine is female.
There might be five but the egg has not hatched yet. And it might not hatch soon at all. So that means that it's up to me and Saphira to repopulate our world with dragons. But Saphira will not mate with Galbatorix's Shruikan nor Murtagh's Thorn. At least I don't believe she will. It is not Thorn's fault that he has been tricked into Galbatorix's service. And finally there is Glaedr Oromis' golden dragon. Who has no interest in Saphira. So it is a dilemma. If one of us four dies then there will be one less dragon. If Saphira dies, then there will be no dragons.
And that will be a tragedy. The world deserves dragons.
But I don't know what to do. I can't force Saphira onto another dragon. While I imagine Thorn or Shruikan might be interested in her they're are in no position to be with her.
Sometimes I wonder what it would be like, when she mates. With our bond so closely together, when we are one. Will I feel the same desires and needs for the person who rides the dragon she chooses. I certainly hope not. Murtagh is my brother, Ormois my mentor and Galbatorix my enemy. So, I suppose my only hope is for the last egg.
The last egg that will not hatch until its found its perfect mate. The egg that Galbatorix controls.
I suppose then my hopes are thin.
But still, I do have hope.
I hope that Arya will get the egg and it will be a male that Spahira finds pleasing. Because then she'll have to be with me.
